This is one of those situations where you feel alot of emotions at once towards the people that this happened to. I hate the rapist, I hate her family, I think bill is stupid for staying with her but he is a good man for doing so and she should make sure she treats him good, I feel horrible for her and the things that happened to her, I feel so bad for the kids since they are going to have to live with this too, they may be young now but you think she will be able to heal and get over this by the time they are old enough to understand? I think not. I think the coworkers who were at the bar with her are complete morons for letting her leave with another man when she is married, regardless of him being a coworker, hes still another man. It makes me more mad that bars dont have cameras shooting the exits and entrances because this stuff happens too often to NOT have them. And the story in general just makes me sick.
This kind of shit REALLY does happen. I dont know how true this story is, if the girl is just covering up a screw up by claiming she doesnt know what happened, or if it really happened because unfortunately, stupid women, do claim rape to cover up mistakes so their men wont leave them. I do not know what happened here, I dont want to believe the story because it is horrible what happened, but I want to believe that it went down as it really did for Bill's sake so that he isnt having to struggle in vain. These things really happen though, we go through our lives not thinking about it, we walk down those creepy streets with broken street lights saying "Nah, this is a good neighborhood, nothing will happen to me" and we take those chances, us women put ourselves in positions with men where we think it is harmless flirting and they may take it as more than that and some men dont care if you want nothing more than a few compliments. We dont think about these things because they are horrible things and we dont want to make life depressing by thinking about them. But seriously, take a minute to think about how many women get raped on a daily basis. How many children are conceived from rape and then resented when born because the mother thinks of the rapist everytime they see them. Think of how you would feel if you were helpless against a man and they overpowered you and did what they wanted. Not a pretty picture is it?
If anyone here is a victim of rape, I do apologize if this upsets you, but I am just trying to get out how I feel when I read these kind of stories. I want women to seriously consider this stuff. When I was 11-14 years old I put myself in situations on a daily basis where I could be raped. I was young though and never thought that it would happen to me, cause the chances are one in a million, its a nice neighborhood, no crime ever happens, etc. Well, crimes happen, they just dont get reported, it may be a nice neighborhood, but maybe the visitors in the neighborhood are not so nice or maybe there are some secrets with the neighbors, the chances are NOT one in a million, cause it can happen to anyone. Men get raped too, it is not as common as women getting raped, and it is not reported nearly as much, but it does happen. So, girls, do NOT put yourselves in these situations. If something feels creepy or not right.....its usually because it is creepy and not right. High tail it away from the situation before it even has the chance to escalate.
Yep, I sound paranoid, its because I am. I was nearly raped when I was 12 years old and a friend of mine whom I will never forget saved me from having to suffer such a thing.
This probably isnt the right section for this, but it is kind of related to the topic, so yeah. Sorry for the long ass post, but once I get started on something I feel strongly about its hard to get me to shut up.....just ask Heather lol.
