Good lord. You hear about adults doing this kind of screwed up stuff all the time. Its just that much more disturbing when a child does it. What could have drove him to do such a thing?! I feel horrible for the 4 year old. She is at an age where she will start remembering things and I doubt this will be one of the things she forgets. The unborn child was probably the boyfriends, so that has to be crushing to him, lose the one he loves and his unborn child all at once. I hope they find out what the motive behind this was, that kid has some major issues he needs to deal with while he is incarcerated. Man....thats just crazy.

Motive really is the thing I am interested in learning as well. This, of course, is not to say that ANY motive justifies murder... I guess I just hope that it is not some pointless 'this is what you get for making me clean my room' kind of thing.

Exactly, though I think it will have something to do with him just not liking the new girlfriend and not liking the fact that a new baby is coming into the family. Thats what I am guessing.

And people shit bricks when I say I hate kids that age. HMM. I wonder why.

I blame the dad. You don't buy an 11 year old a shot gun. Made for children or not, good god.

@Charleene: I think you are right... There has to be something about the new baby. At least I hope so. An alternate motive is the kid is just batsh*t crazy.

And what makes a shotgun a shotgun for kids anyways?! Is it the adult gun but with a Spongebob or Jonas Brothers sticker on it?

This is my Hello Kitty Colt AR-15 (ArmaLite 15) Sporter SP1 carbine rifle, the semi-automatic civilian version of the M16 assault rifle, weighing 6.5lbs with empty magazine. I use it on people I'm jealous of (notice you guys haven't been shot). I also use it on irritating noises in my vicinity.

Hubby just read online that the kid is being tried as a minor instead of an adult. I still wanna know motive though...

I hate kids too. When I'm older and have a wife, I'm going to make sure we only have one kid. I hate hate hate them. XD

Okay, ANYWAY...

I didn't really watch the local news report, but I think the grandmother or someone was making a fuss about, "He's only 11 years old! He's not capable of such an act! This is an outrage!" type of thing. :/ I only saw the preview for the report.

I'll see if I can dig up some info on the case. My mom is a prosecutor in the area, and I'll ask her if there's any new developments. [And I'll ask her if it's strictly confidental first.]

EDIT: Okay, I talked to my mom. The case is being tried about a county away from me. My mom's best friend [Who works with her - they're both prosecutors] - well, her best friend's HUSBAND got called to the crime scene and is doing the case.

But his motive was jealousy - the kid didn't want to share his dad.

And it was a hunting gun. It's not uncommon in western PA for younger kids to hunt. There's kids in the newspaper, 8 - 9 years old, holding up deer heads all the time. Our school has a thing every year where kids bring in pictures of their best 'catch', and the higest pointer gets a prize. [I don't hunt, though I have a lot of friends that do. So I don't really know the 'lingo' for hunting, lol.]
