Farting and disconnecting other students' computers during class? I have to admit to being a little torn on how I feel about this. On the one hand, this is quite an overreaction... On the other, sounds like the little brat needed a good scare. What do you all think?

12 year old boy arrested after deliberately "breaking wind" in school class

A 12-year-old student from Florida was arrested November 4 for breaking wind during class and disturbing his classmates by shutting off their computers at Stuar's Spectrum Jr./Sr. High School.

The police called this a "deliberately passed gas to disrupt the class" and "disruption of a school function"

Um, this is really stupid. They didn't mention if this was a one-time offense or if he had been doing this for days or weeks on end. They also fail to mention the measures they took before involving the police. That's what I'd like to know.

There are a lot of holes in this report and when there is useful information so obviously lacking you can't help but wonder if this is biased, "pot-stirring" reporting...

I'm going to be optimistic and believe that this is a boy who continually causes trouble in class and denies the right of other children to get their education (always turning off computers during a class?)...

Here's a prime example of the old "wussification" of children.
No one appears to have taught this kid that it is wrong to be disruptive in class. Whose responsibility is that...?

Why has the school been driven to telephone the police?
(Could it be because they don't get any response/support from his parents..?)

So many questions...
