Family returns from vacation to find that thieves (who posed as a moving company) robbed them of EVERYTHING

Sounds like a terrible thing to come home to after a two week vacation... Robbed in broad daylight and probably something nobody would suspect.

Original story is here.

Where did our stuff go? Couple's home cleared out by burglars
A British family returned to their US home after a holiday to discover that burglars posing as house movers had completely cleaned out their house.

Andrew and Roxanne Lamb arrived at their house in Orlando, Florida, with their two children following a two-week break in Scotland to find their furniture gone. Bizarrely one table was left behind.

The thieves, who struck in broad daylight, also gutted their five-bedroomed home of appliances, electrical items, clothes, children's toys and even food from the cupboards.

Neighbours said they did not suspect the burglars when they began loading the family's possessions into lorries because they were dressed as removal workers.

Police investigating the raid believe the thieves did such a thorough job to make it appear as if they were movers.

If their insurance covers it, it doesn't sound like such a horrible thing.
They come back and get to shop for new stuff!

I know I'd love to come back to find all my crap gone except for the Tamagotchi collection, kite collection and a sparse few odds and ends I really like. Oh, and my couch that's so nice I'm afraid to use.

And, leave the turtles but take the birds.

If I had insurance to cover all my belongings, I wouldnt mind them clearing out my house! Just leave my box of photos and take the rest, Ill go buy all new stuff!

Sucks for them though, I doubt they have insurance like that, and I hope they catch the guys and get their stuff back!

You can't just go out and buy all new stuff and be done with it. Think about it: these people were robbed of EVERYTHING in their house. That takes several hours of work. Meaning the robbers knew they would be gone for an extended period of time. They knew these people were going on vacation. The family was being watched.

Not only that, but they went in and took everything. As a woman, I'd feel really creeped out, knowing that my unwashed laundry was hauled off by some thief. When your personal space has been violated, and very personal items in the hands of a stranger... Your kids favorite toy, for example... love-related bedroom items that you share only with your spouse... your undergarments... It's an intrusion, not only into a house full of stuff, but into your LIFE.
