Impatient woman passes traffic on curb, rams police car

An impatient Texas woman was arrested for refusing to stop for police after she drove over a curb to get around traffic and then intentionally rammed a patrol car to get away.

A Fort Worth police officer attempted to pull over Angela Michelle Smith for trying to bypass traffic on the curb at a red light but the 39-year-old woman refused to stop. She reached speeds up to 70 mph before slamming on the brakes and putting her car in reverse, ramming into the police car in pursuit.

She continued on before being stopped again several miles down the road. When police were approaching the car on foot, Smith once again threw the car in reverse and took off. She was finally stopped for a third time and was arrested without incident, according to the Star Telegram.

Smith faces charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer and evading arrest. She has several warrants for unpaid traffic tickets.

“But officer, it was those faulty brakes, really it was!”
