Man pushes would-be China suicide off bridge: media

A Chinese man was pushed off a bridge by an angry passer-by after his threat to commit suicide held up traffic for five hours, Chinese media reported on Saturday.

Retired soldier Lian Jiansheng, 66, broke through a police cordon and reached out to shake the hand of would-be jumper Chen Fuchao before shoving him off the bridge.

"I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish. Their action violates a lot of public interests," Lai was quoted as saying by the China Daily newspaper.

"They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities' attention to their appeals."

Well, at least he will have a shot at getting his debts paid off by suing this guy, and you know he will sue him.

It's China, maybe they are not as lawsuit crazy as we are here. Maybe they are smart enough there to have a loser pays system. Gawd, we sure need that!

I just saw this on the news. The guy pushed annoying guy off the bridge then saluted him!

There was a nice shot of that on the news. He looked really proud of himself.

The pushee fell on an inflatable thing and was fine.. I guess.

After 5 hours, who doesn't think of just pushing the guy off the bridge? It's China. It's crowded, it's rush hour.

lol Im gonna see if I can find the video later cause that sounds too funny! And yeah, after 5 hours? I would be out there pushing him too XD We are lawsuit happy here arent we? I hope it is different over there, we dont need people trying to pull some american stunt like that lol
