Sweet story... Good news for a change.

Original story is here.

Pixar grants girl's dying wish to see 'Up'

Colby Curtin, a 10-year-old with a rare form of cancer, was staying alive for one thing – a movie.

From the minute Colby saw the previews to the Disney-Pixar movie Up, she was desperate to see it. Colby had been diagnosed with vascular cancer about three years ago, said her mother, Lisa Curtin, and at the beginning of this month it became apparent that she would die soon and was too ill to be moved to a theater to see the film.

After a family friend made frantic calls to Pixar to help grant Colby her dying wish, Pixar came to the rescue.

The company flew an employee with a DVD of Up, which is only in theaters, to the Curtins’ Huntington Beach home on June 10 for a private viewing of the movie.

Good on Pixar.
Pixar totally seems to be a company that would be more than happy to accommodate such a wish.

Im glad they were kind enough to do that. I feel bad that she didnt get to watch most of it because she kept closing her eyes from the pain, but her mom gave her the play-by-play on it and she seemed satisfied with that. Thats cool that they brought her the toys and stuff too! That was really close timing if she passed away 7 hours later. And pixar wont comment when asked about it, one of the comments on that article said that they dont want publicity for these things (which isnt usually true, they WANT the publicity, but they arent going to throw out hooks for it like some companies -cough- PETA -cough-) and they do nice things like this all time to, but they do it quietly, and I hope that is true.

Good on ya Pixar!

That is so nice Pixar did that for her.
Like Charleene said, they fufilled her final wish with class, not spreading the details to every reporter in the country.

Usually Disney flicks people off, I'm surprised Pixar was kind enough to do this. Though, I have to wonder if they did it b/c media got involved to save face, or if they 'really' cared. I doubt it.
