Reaching new levels of stupidity in the name of protecting kids: School district bans the DICTIONARY because it contains sex words

How stupid can parents be in hopes of 'protecting' their kids?

Original story is here.

No Sex Please! We're Just Kids!

Perhaps it's not that surprising that a mother in Menifee, California, asked the Menifee Union School District to ban all copies of the 10th edition of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary after her child stumbled across the term "oral sex." What is surprising, indeed horrifying, is that district officials immediately complied with her request, and pulled all dictionaries off classroom shelves throughout the Southern California school district, which serves 9,000 kids, kindergarten through eighth grade.

District officials said on Friday that they are forming a committee to consider a permanent classroom ban of the Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. District spokeswoman Betti Cadmus said that school officials will review the dictionary to decide if it should be permanently banned because of the "sexually graphic" entry.

I'm a bit confused why someone thought it was necessary to make an entry for 'oral sex' in the dictionary. That being said, I don't agree with banning the dictionary. This is what happens when idiots are allowed to have children. They have to step in and say something completely stupid just so their big flapping jaws can be noticed for once in their lives, because lord knows they're nothing but a useless appendage on society, claiming their fifteen minutes of fame by being featured on peopleofwalmart.com

It's usefulness in the dictionary isn't in question in my opinion... Hell, there is even an entry at Wikipedia (with illustration). The crazy thing to me is why this parent thinks it is so damaging for her kid to MAYBE be exposed to the definition in a book with 1000s and 1000s of other words defined as well. Frankly, if the kid is looking up oral sex then the parent other things to discuss with their kid besides where they found a definition. I'm actually somewhat impressed the kid actually looked it up. Good thing they didn't do a Google search for it or else who knows what they'd find. Thankfully, the dictionaries have been removed making it more likely the kid will do that Google search. I'm waiting for the schools to ban Google and Wikipedia... Any bets on how long that takes?

That Wikipedia page is fucking nasty ahaha.

But I don't think it's necessary to ban the whole entire dictionary. That seems kind of overboard. I don't think kids should be exposed to oral sex, but they can't ban all the dictionaries.

Well you should have seen the dictionaries the GERMAN LOTE kids got. They had entries for slut, all the swear words, plenty of sexual terminology and lots of other stuff.
Which would explain why the only german words I know are:
Schlampve (Sl*t)
Einer Ficken Menteh (I think it means I f*ck your mom, I probably spelt it wrong)
and Valien Puninen (Which supposedly means pink. Or gay. IDK.)
