Bored Like Me

Well, I'm not sure if they do this everywhere, but when I got my tattoo, they made a non-permanent decal of the image which they placed on my skin to transfer the outline. I was shown the transferred image in the mirror and asked if that was exactly where I wanted it. I told him that was perfect, and he proceeded to do the tattooing.

But even if they did not use a transfer, I still don't buy it. Here's why:

1.) Have you ever heard a tattoo needle at work? They're not exactly quiet! They buzz loudly, and you can hear them loud and clear just walking past a tattoo shop. In this case, the device was right by her ear. If you can sleep through that, you're probably really drunk (which she wasn't... that would have resulted in a lot of bleeding, and most places won't tattoo you if you're drunk).

2.) She is tattooed across her forehead and her temple, and underneath her jaw line. No one can sleep through that! That's right along the bone. That would probably hurt like hell, and even if it didn't, she would notice.

3.) She's tattooed on the nose. The slightest pressure would've caused her nostril to collapse, even just a bit, and the interrupted breathing would've jostled her out of her nap (unless she was deep in REM sleep.... not likely, as we already discussed). She stayed just a little bit too still.

Basically as Zoe said, you get the temporary as an example of your permanent work first. You approve it and move on from there.

One thing that does bother me about this tattoo "artist" though is why he'd go ahead and tattoo someone on the face like that.
The thing I loved so much about the "artist" I got my tattoo from is she refused work twice when I was there because she had issues with the proposed work. I was there a grand total of 5 times. More tattooists should refuse work.
BUT I'm not saying this was the artists fault.

It is impossible to sleep through getting a tattoo, especially on your FACE?? From the first second to the end of the job, it's excruciating. I remember every minute of my 4 hour tattoo. It was just not something you can ignore on any level.
If you have to have a general anesthetic while getting a tattoo, you don't deserve it. I just don't understand the concept in this story that she was asleep! That is the only circumstance under which she could have been asleep!

For reasons Zoe stated, she's obviously full of shit.
But I'll be the one to contradict, in that it IS possible to fall asleep or at least doze while getting a tattoo, depending on where it is. I say this because I dozed off while getting the tattoo on my shoulder done. To fully fall asleep though, that's a little over the top.

I got my shoulder done a while back. There is no way anyone could fall asleep during that. (mainly thats because I'm really ticklish)

It may sound weird, but if I went to a tattoo parlor and the tattooist looked like that, I probably wouldn't get my work done there.

My artist is pretty covered, but his are tasteful and he doesn't look like a complete freak.

All right, I have been to 2 seperate tattoo shops in 2 seperate states (although not countries) and both do the stencil first to make sure its what you want, no matter how big or small it is. Its damn near impossible to fall asleep during a tattoo, and like the others stated, its right next to your ear, not exactly quiet.... And I dont know about elsewhere, but all the shops I have ever stepped foot into will not tattoo you if you have been drinking within the last 24 hours (given you dont lie to them like SK did), so yeah, sleeping? I think not. Plus the guy says she was awake and was watching in the mirror from time to time. And a witness says that yes it was what she asked for. So, I call bullshit on this one, big time. She would have lost in court had the guy not offered to pay for half of the laser removal, now it will be considered as showing some fault in the issue (at least thats what I think) unless he gets a judge who has tattoos him/herself and might understand that the guy is just trying to help her out. Anyways, I dont believe her for a minute, and although he looks kinda shady from appearances, I dont think he would be doing something she didnt specifically and clearly ask for, especially when she doesnt have any other tattoos showing that makes it look like she wants a huge beacon on her face.

Hey I didn't lie XD They didn't ask!

I'm positive she couldn't have slept through those facial tatoos.It must have hurt a ton. People I know have said it is the most painful thing they have experienced.
