I'd love to know the motives for this... The sad thing is he will not be charged with the actions against the corpse because the state laws do not have anything about that...

Boy burglar beat on corpse, police say

A teen boy broke into a mortuary and beat up a corpse this week, according to police and prosecutors who are stuck for a motive and a crime more serious than burglary.

Albuquerque police arrested Dominic Goodmoney, 17, Sunday night near Reflections Funeral & Life Celebrations. He was covered in blood, digging into his own cuts and banging his head against a building, police reported.

A knife was found nearby.

On Wednesday he appeared in court charged with aggravated burglary while armed, criminal damage to property, tampering with evidence and larceny. In addition to beating the female corpse he also made a mess of the mortuary, police said.

However Goodmoney is unlikely to face any charge for what was described as blunt-force trauma to the face of the dead women.

The comments are... very interesting. "I'm tired of paying to fix broken people. Just put him down and move on. No amount of help can fix someone like this. The sooner you realize it the better off the rest of us will be."

I didnt read the full article because I have to leave, but it sounds like he might have known the person, maybe he had a bad history and wanted what he would consider revenge for whatever had happened between them. Hope whatever issues he has he can deal with because it takes a specially screwed up person to literally beat a corpse to a bloody pulp.

This sounds a bit too harsh to me. After all, the woman was dead, what's the worst that could happen if he beat her? She might be dead-er? I think he should just have been given a hefty fine, and that's it. Sending him to prison is a bit too much I think.

Sounds like this boy needs some help. He shouldn't be in a jail, he should be in a mental institute, especially someone who is disturbed enough to do this.
Yes, it is disrespectful to... beat the dead, but he shouldn't be in jail for that. A fine, as Ra said, would be a better option.
