Story and news video about girl is here.

Child found alive after plane crashes in sea

Rescuers were searching the wreckage of a downed Yemeni jet Tuesday after the "miracle" discovery of a young child in the Indian Ocean.

The child is the only known survivor from the downed Yemenia Airways flight, which was carrying 153 people en route to the island nation of Comoros from Yemen's capital, Sanaa.

The child was found in the waters and taken to a hospital, said Captain Abdulkhalek al-Kadi, chairman of Yemenia Airways.

"One child is alive and we hope to find more," the chairman said.

It seems there have been many crashes this year. Air France, the Hudson Bay one (though everyone survived), and there was another one plane that crashed early this year in New York I think...It seemed it was a small passenger plane.Still...lives were lost. On t.v. they were showing a lot of scary plane movies....0_o. It was like a marathon event.

There have been quite a few commercial planes that have crashed lately. Tons of smaller planes have crashed as of recently too. Everytime I turn on the news it seems a plane has crashed nearby, gone missing without any evidence to where, planes having to make emergency landings....and these are just the smaller cargo and few passenger planes around here that people use locally!

Its sad when a plane crashes, all the people on board are part of a bigger picture. They all have family who are going to be mourning them, and if there are survivors then they have to figure out how to deal with going through something like that and living (and sometimes, like in this case, being the only one who lived) and losing whoever they were with on board.

Can you imagine what that experience would be like? I watched the movie Passengers recently and it reminds me of the scene at the end of the movie. Not something I would EVER want to experience, even if I were guaranteed to live.
